Mutualism & Epiphytes: Haberdashery Ecosystems workshop (August 2025)
Through outdoor sketching, collaborative drawing, and textile remnants experimentation, we will explore epiphytes both as natural forms to observe and as metaphors for care, support, and interconnectedness in our environmental and social worlds.
We will create whilst asking: How do we grow in relation to others? How can art help us reflect on mutual support and shared environments?
Our session will begin with a warm-up drawing exercise, inspired by Loïe Fuller’s Serpentine Dance, where fabric endlessly folds and unfolds, shapes and reshapes, around her body, before moving onto collaborative sketching, outdoor drawing, and finally, mixed-media textile work.
